Q Café Staff & Volunteers

eugene cho

Eugene Cho, [Executive Director] and his wife, Minhee, helped start Q Cafe in 2001. He enjoys working with the staff, advisory board, and volunteers in their joint effort to help create a very unique "glocal" neighborhood cafe. Born in Korea, he immigrated to the U.S. at age six and grew up in San Francisco. He, Minhee, and their three kids moved to Seattle in 1997 and hope to be here for a very long long time. In addition to his passion at Q Cafe, Eugene is the founder and executive director of a global movement to fight extreme global poverty called One Day's Wages and a pastor at Quest Church. His hobbies include coffee, sports, reading, air guitar, and blogging. Favorite drink: Vanilla latte. Email:eugenecho@qcafe.org. You can also follow him on Twitter.

Brian [Cafe Director] was born and raised in the glorious midwest, hailing from the Twin Cities of Minnesota.  Having moved to Seattle in 2008, Brian recently transitioned from working in the field of Higher Education to café management, and has quickly fallen in love with the craft of coffee.  He and his family love living in Seattle, and enjoy exploring the great outdoors in the Pacific Northwest. He's a Minnesota Twins fan, a sucker for watching ESPN, catching movies and finding new music to enjoy. Favorite drink: double macchiato Email: brian@qcafe.org

Tom [Live Music and Art Coordinator] is a die hard Pacific Northwesterner. Born in Washington and raised in Olympia he developed a deep love and appreciation for the landscape, people, attitudes, and activities of this part of the country. After attending undergrad in Chicago IL at North Park University, he departed the big city to move back home to Western Washington. If there is anything that stands out about Tom, its his obvious love and passion for music. He also enjoys good conversations, This American Life, NPR, and board games.  Favorite drink: Iced Mocha. Email: tom@qcafe.org

Our Baristas: Ron, Meaghan, Randall & Lauren

The Advisory Board: Eugene Cho, Brian Jensen, Tom Rorem, Jenn Cepek, Nancy Rust, Kelly Schnell, Will Stuck

Volunteering at Q Café

The Cafe is looking for dedicated volunteers who are passionate about community, the arts, and social change. Volunteers help the Q Cafe accomplish its mission by donating their time, skills, and expertise.

Volunteer Opportunities:

The Q Cafe is looking for volunteers to help run live music shows. Duties include selling tickets, running the cafe register, and helping with clean-up. Perks include free admission to shows and free coffee!

Volunteer writers are needed for the Q Cafe's Music Spotlight series. If you are a great writer and are passionate about music and social change, then this is a position for you! Each piece will highlight a local musician/band and be featured in the cafe and on the cafe's website, myspace, and facebook.
